Thanks for all the nice comments, your a lot nicer than the AMG forum people told them who I was age etc and they turned into arseholes.

As a run around I am looking at a Peugeot 106 for my sins, reason being my girlfriend is learning to drive and has her test soon, so we are going to buy a car she can use as well :)

Narrow minded is all it is. The more expensive the car the further up their own ass they become sad to say

Service intervals for Evo X FQ400 are 6 months +or- 1 month or 5000 miles +or- 500 miles which ever comes first. Every other service is a basic oil inspection & look see, so not that expensive.

Hi all,
sorry about the delay been busy looking through cars.
I am still not sure weather to get a FQ360 or FQ400?

I know the 400 you need to service every 5000 miles but if thats simply just an oil change then its not too bad as I do this to all my cars half way through its service interval anyway?

also I have noticed that they do an Auto or a manual version what would you recommend?

what are the reall differences between the 360 and the 400 i know the 400 is obvsiouly more powerful but how is it (e.g. bigger turbo etc) and also is there any other extras etc

once again sorry for all the questions just I am new to all this so need to get my head around them before i take the plunge :)

The 400 only came as a manual with bigger brakes and 18inch rims and larger air intake. the 360 can come as manual or SST I think (auto). Details below

UK modelsUK cars kept the Evolution X name.

GS – Base Japanese GSR with Enkei wheels, 5-speed manual transmission\ radio and music server (MMCS),Rockford Fosgate premium audio, iPod/MP3 auxiliary input port.
GSR SST (FQ-300, FQ-330) – GSR FQ-300 with 6-speed TC-SST transmission with SST mode selection (normal, sport, super sport). GSR SST FQ-330 was released in 2009.[31]
Variants:

FQ-300 – Engine rated 300 PS (220 kW; 300 hp) at 6500 rpm and 407 N·m (300 lb·ft) at 3500 rpm.
FQ-330 – Engine rated 329 PS (242 kW; 324 hp) at 6500 rpm and 437 N·m (322 lb·ft) at 3500 rpm.
FQ-360 – Engine rated 359 PS (264 kW; 354 hp) at 6500 rpm and 492 N·m (363 lb·ft) at 3500 rpm. Carbon fibre front lip spoiler, rear vortex generator, gear knob, hand brake. Front leather Recaro seats.
FQ-400 – Engine rated 410 PS (300 kW; 400 hp) and 542 N·m (400 lb·ft) of torque. It also includes 5 speed manual transmission, six-piston brake calipers, upgraded brakes and 18-inch wheels fitted with Toyo Proxes R1R tyres, a new aero kit that includes additional cooling intakes, vents, a larger air intake in the hood and ducts. An estimated 100 vehicles would be made.[32] It accelerates 0–62 mph in 3.8 seconds (est.) and has a top speed of 155 mph (electronically limited).
Standard equipment for the range-topping Lancer Evolution X model is comprehensive, the FQ-400 coming with Bluetooth hands-free telephone connection, a CD-tuner with 30 Gig hard drive, DVD satellite navigation and privacy glass. Convenience features like remote central locking, automatic headlamps and windscreen wipers increase the FQ-400’s ease of use.

The 400s will be rare and expensive to buy 2nd hand. I think the turbo is the same on 360 and 400, just the above changes and a slight tweak to the map.

Dont quote me but I think if you go for the SST version performance upgrades are a bit more pricey and tricky compared to manual.

Hi M8, I have had my 360 for 11 months now and I am still very happy with it from all aspects, serves as a family car and a beast when need be :)
The FQ400 as has been said above is a rare 1, the thing that put me off (in hindsight irrelavant) was it being 30mm(i think) lower than mine. By hindsight I stupidly read too many reviews and all slated ride comfort as being as comfortable at the Rattlesnake ride lol. Utter rubbish. Its as firm as u need without being a bone shaker, and handles speed humps at any speed u want
If the turbo is the same on 360 and 400 then I am happy lol. U will be able to pick up a 360 for good money as Mitsubishi still appear to be up in the air over the eleccy XI, whenever thats released ^^
Good luck M8, whichever way you go.
