Hi guys and girls, I'm hoping you can help me. :)

I'm thinking of buying an Evo later this year. Gonna be an Evo 6 as it's what I've always wanted. :D

Should have around 5-6k to spend which should get me a decent enough example.

Insurance isn't a problem either but I have no idea how much parts cost for them.

Can anyone give me an idea of rough prices for the basic things that can go.
e.g, brake discs/pads, turbo's, sensors etc.

Also any advice on what things are common failures and the cost to replace etc. I love the cars but don't know enough about them to make a sensible decision.

I know they aren't the cheapest things in the world to run but I don't want to spend a small fortune on the car then find every little thing that goes wrong will cost hundreds to repair.

Thanks in advance,

Gav

It really depends on where you shop around.

for example my local performance centre (Revolution Gateshead) im going to get a new set of drilled and grooved disks with new brake pad compounds all round for my 8, these are mid-top performance range.

the whole lot including fitting is costing me £746.

i also know that mitsubishi wants £325 for a service nxt month. im getting a dual turbo timer and boost gauge fitted today thats costing me £198 including fitting and a new re-circulating dump valve that al cost between £170-£230.

these little things soon add up, i would advise trying to save a little extra to buy these sort of things if you need em when you buy the car

Thanks for the quick reply.

I plan to put some money aside in case anything needs doing. I just didn't want to have to be paying out 1k every MOT.
