From cold, when driving the car, steady and easy the engine is hesitating. quite jumpy(misfiring while cold). I never drive the car hard til its warm enough. ive changed plugs and its only really started since then. Do i close the plug gap? i have a feeling its something to do with that???

Any thoughts?

Well Mark, I would have to say that .8 is what you should be looking at at stock.

If I recall correctly, the only mod you have is an SPF-R right???

Are you sure that the leads are in correctly???

Sometimes, when the leads have not been pushed down fully, you will get the symptoms that you have posted up which immediately dissipate once the car has warmed up. This will get worse, or rather, take longer to dissipate during this time of year as it takes longer for the engine to warm up and condensation build up will not help matters at all either.

I suggest you check the whole lot and get back to us buddy.

doubt the issue is with the plugs if the car is fine when warmed up.......although strange that its started since you swopped the plugs.

.....poss engine temp sensor?

try fitting the old plugs to see if it cures it?

Perhaps you're right buddy on the temp sensor, something I forgot to mention...... I would be very much surprised if it is.

Lets see what Mark reports back.

Hi lads, the mods are as follows:

HKS SPF Air Filter
Trust(Greddy?) cat back exh. system
Blitz Dump Valve......with the filter on it, looks old skool.

Standard boost.

the plugs are the NGK Iridium(spelling) ones at £40 a set. the old plugs were the cheap NGK ones, and i chucked them as they really had their use.

That is a good point about the temp sensor. Where can i find it in the engine bay?

Thanks for replies.

the one at the front goes to your gauge, the one at the rear is the one your interested in.
