I like all the parts on my car to work how they should! If something breaks fix it.. It's a shame some people just let their car fall apart and leave things. For example the ayc pump.
I am just hoping not a lot of people vote and do look after thier evos, which I think most people on here do! :)

WTF are you on pal???? I've read some 541T in my time but this has to be the best!! FFS why buy a car in the first place if you can't afford to put things right or maintain it correctly??? We have a group of people over here called CHAV'S and I think you may fit perfectly into that category very nicely as they like to buy the vehicle but have no means or idea of maintaining the vehicle. FFS just get it fixed! Rant over!!!!

Wow guy so quick to flame. It is partially my fault for not fully explaining my current situation as i have on my other ayc thread. Going to buy a evo 5 state side but the ayc light is on and it has to make a 750 mile trip back to my garage where it will sit awaiting the ayc rebuild or diff replacement depending. So i was curious as to what the average is for people driving on busted ayc systems.

Right!!! A full story is always better than little Wifes Tales here and there!! Get it recovered and budget for it! That's what I would do.

Yep thats the plan. As long as i can get her home i will be going over the evo 5 with a fine tooth comb as this is my dream car. I have about $12,000 usd budgeted for her so she will be in good hands :)

Tbh with you m8! Don't but it and waste your time and money, if the ayc is not working what other things has the owner left broken on the car? This must get you thinking as it has me... But it's your money not mine.. ;)

Ayc will be fine for your 750 trip home.
And the rebuild kits work perfectly and good price :)

Mart1983 these cars are extremely rare in the usa. And like i said it has been my dream car. Its not like i have a lot of options lol
Can you, or how will you get it registered in the US under the 25yr import rule?
Are certain states exempt?
Also is it a fresh import or has it been passed around? I'm assuming you're getting it out of BC or Alberta.

Will be more than fine for the journey home, then you can get diagnosing it. Mine isn't working as I have a wiring gremlin after rebuilding it, been that way for a few months

Yes the motor sounds strong and fires right up on cold starts. No idiling issues. And i will be the third owner. So it hasnt been passed around. The current owner owns a performance shop and has a bunch of race cars but basically doesnt have time for the evo 5. He says its not on his priorities.
