I think the drunk would have had a better chance of driving his car home in one piece:D

The best bit of this report was this right here:

Normal police procedure when arresting a suspected drink-driver is to wait for a recovery vehicle to take the car away.

Old bill on a joy ride!! You just KNOW they were not insured:D

As for this statement here:

Police said the incident would be "rigorously investigated".

I know that nothing will ever come of it! In Birmingham, a couple of years back, a child was run over by a Police car which was driving at high speed. The investigation determined that the officers were responding to an emergency which was almost 7 miles away:confused:

The strange thing was that between where the accident happened and where the emergency was, there were around 3 Police stations:confused:

Agree with you there.

Someone on the MLR had noticed that the tyres are mismatched so the force would maybe try and use this as an excuse as to why they crashed

There will be a "full" investigation and nothing much will come of it.... IMO, I think they should lose their jobs or suspended without pay at least, may sound harsh, but it would reassure the public that even police are held accountable for what they do......

In an ideal world maybe, but from what I know, they look after themselves:mad:

Thanks for that Matt. I was sure I posted the full link!

They shouldn't have driven the car and if they had to, they should have driven it more sensibly (they should no better).

Talking about police, they took my cousins car off him even though he proved he was insured, all other documents upto scratch but they still took it! The officer that took it can be a bit of a nooob i've heard.

Again, they didn't wait for a recovery, he sped off in it! Maybe he just wanted to drive a VW Toureg 5.0 V10 Diesel.

Worst thing is, we can't do anything about it.

Wonder how fast they were travelling to cause the damage they did? Looks like the car travelled some distance into the garden.

They supposed to be stopping joyriders, they seem to be joining them! I hope they get done for it because they could have either injured or killed somebody.

What boggles the mind is why the both of them were in the car!!!

Who drove the patrol car back while they were off on a joy ride???

They probably left it parked up and thought they would go off on a quickie without any one realising:D

I wonder if the officer driving was breathalysed when the rest of his chums turned up at the scene:confused:

That's it El, they thought they'd go for a quick blast which backfired on them. Very badly :D

And this is the exact sort of thing that makes me hate the police so much, they think their above the law,its pathetic,n then they wonder why they get shot ect,I think they should loose their jobs n a brand new evo baught for this poor lad.thing is even though the police were in the wrong nothing will happen,I no this first hand, even the majority of judges stand by em.

They probably just get a slapped wrist. They should buy the poor lad a better evo than he already had and do all mods free of charge for him :) Doubt that will happen though. Knowing the police, they'll just repair his car for him which is unfair really.

The lad shouldn't have been drink driving in the first place really because that could have been him and he could have killed someone and himself!!

I love it when the Police prove they need policing! This goes to prove one thing for sure...... we pay a bunch of idiots to keep our streets safe!!! The only thing more shocking than this will probably be the lies that they spin to cover it all up. I can't wait to hear um!!!

I doubt theyl say anythin about it if they can get away with it.the police in general r disgustin, fair enough the lad shunt av bin drink drivin but he dint deserve the police to wreck his car,I'm fed up of readin storys like the one about a copper smashin a womens head off the cell floor,n attackin that guy n most probably causin his heart attack, the fact that copper got away with it is a joke.if u get burgled or ur car nicked all they do is give u a crime num,but if we defend our own property its us that get arested,so wot can we do,the law in general is a waste of time,it needs to be changed n we need a new breed of judges with a big pair to start the changes
