Plasti Dipped my Evo 7

Looks good but the fromt bumper and the doors look a little darker might just be the picture. You can do a gloss top coat. As far as rock chips go its pretty resistant the more coats the better plus touch up is pretty simple. Fyi dont plasti dip your wheels white they are horrible to clean and will never be the white you dipped them again.

The front bumper is a slight different shade , i did all the door shuts yellow and did some testing on another car with it on top of filler and primer. i had 15l of dip and you can normaly get round a car that size with 13l. however door shuts and testing left me a bit tight on dip at the end and the front bumper suffered. 2 more litres of yellow is being delivered on Wednesday and the bumper will have another coat. and the roof (not pictured) which is still silver is going black on Wendesday. and if i dont like it black......ill peel it off and do it yellow.

I have thought of this a few times but just not keen on the texture of the finish, because I believe it's feels rubbery and not shiny. How can you clean the car? I take it you can't use a jet wash?

Do what you want with it craigus, jet wash no probs, just dont try and polish it if you keep it matt.

Ah fair enough, so it's not likely to peel off ect. I was thinkin about trying it first on the work van and see how it fares

it wont peel off until you want it off.

We recently had a Porsche in that ran in the gum ball rally that was plastidipped green
He had already had a go at removing most of it himself but this stuff gets everywhere, every nook and cranny, which is difficult to remove,
Before it was dipped the car had recently had the n/s painted and when he removed the plasti it peeled of the new-ish paint, so if you've had recent paintwork it will cause problems
In the end he had the n/s repainted, front and rear bumpers repainted, sourced some second hand headlamps, new badges, as it discoloured them,
Altogether I'm not impressed, you can just scratch it off with your fingernail

Thats interesting to read Ant, havent come across anything like that before, its probably a good idea not to put it on fresh paint as it will bond directly to the paint and wont come off without the paint. its pretty harmless stuff if its thinned with the correct thinners and not regular thinners.
