Regular unleaded today at Tesco was a record 'low' of £1.02 (with the obligatory .99 after it) so thats really £1.03

Bit like me missus in the supermarket - "It's only £3 " - no it's not it's £3.99 dear. ie £4 !

99 RON was £1.11 which is best I've seen in 6 -9 months.

Evo fuel cosumtion problem... At last.

I sold me WRX subaru because of the dodgy guys inviting a "meet" round the back of Burger King or McDonalds and the such.

Bit strange ...

*maybe add a link later to clarify such allegations* :D

But one reason, was filling it when emty and hitting me credit card with £65instead of a year ago when it was just under £40.

The solution with me Evo - and it DOES work .... IS ....

Fill it to the brim - take the £60 or thereabouts on the chin....

Then run it as normal. and as soon as you see a slight blimmer of movement from the fuel guage - go and brim the car to the full again ....

Sounds simple eh !

Only a tenner a shot ! The car is still on absolutely full and it's not so bad on the wallet for what it seems !

Yes ! It makes absolututely no difference on it's fuel economy or mileage but it just "Feels better" with always having a full tank.

Alan.

Feeling better now :D

T'is very true Nick - carting around excess baggage is more expensive.

Two scenarios though.

The weight of 60 litres of fuel is under the average weight of a person. ie. Just one more passenger in yer motor.

What would you prefer ?

A skinny Lass (empty fuel tank lookalike) that doesn't go the whole way (no pun intended there)

Or

A fat lass that is pleasing to the eye (full tank Lookalike) that does go all the way and more ;)

For just that extra Tenner :D
