Outer bearing replacement

Hi guys I think I have a driveshaft carrier bearing failing. What size a jod is it to replace one of these and can it be done on a lift or is it gearbox out job.

Drive shaft carrier bearing? You're going to have to be a bit less specific. Do you mean a wheel hub? Or a diff bearing?

Its a whining noise that, having read some threads, appears to be the bearing that where the driveshaft joins the gearbox. I dont think its a wheel bearing as it does not change when turning direction. Also it does not change with clutch in or out. Is audible from 15mph onwards.

Ah, could also be transfer box goosed.
