vii is a completely standard car. the engine is going in the mak along with a mak turbo.
the engine from the mak will then be stripped and rebuilt before putting it in the vii along with my gt3076r and vipec etc :)

It's only had a partial rebuild 2 years ago.
The head is lifting so best way about fixing it is to completely strip it. Engine was built 6 years 30-40000 miles ago so time for full set of bearings and rings Etc :)

Update :)

Started work on the car again today, stripped everything off the front end and deep cleaned it :)
Couple minor bits of attention required then paint it up nice and fresh :)

There isnt even that much rust on the slam panel, considering its white and a few years old they normal suffer from a bit of surface rust, looks like you have a gooden there unless its been sorted before, ;)

Engine bay and inner arches now been all cleaned up, used this rust bullet stuff that everyone seems to be raving about. A bottle of cleaner, and a tin of rust inhabiting primer. Provides a strong chip resistant coating as well as preventing rust :)

And after the recommended 2 coats applied :)

Thanks Frankie. Yea your right, they all suffer from it around all the bolt holes etc.
No it's not been done before, this is the first time and to be honest what I found wasn't even worth worrying about but wanted to nip it in the bud now before it starts to take much effect. Plus as the engine is out it's an ideal time to sort it :)

Well a little update. The lights on a 7/8 have never looked right all sparkly and Crome so pulls them apart and painted them black :)
Done some fiddly masking off around the base of the indicator and side light bulbs to ensure still get plenty of light projection and installed some silvertech indicator bulbs. They appear Crome but flash orange :)

Little update.
Shell is going off for paint in a matter of days so with the doors off I thought I'd have the seats and carpets out to save them getting mucky. Carpet need to come up at some point anyway for battery relocation so why not have the lot out.

Doors are fully stripped of all rubbers, glass handles etc so just need to get the front and rear screens removed this week

And while I'm waiting thought I'd get some bits cleaned up ready for when it all goes back together. Started with the gearbox. Wire wheeled, etch primed it all then a nice bright silver with some gloss black :)
