Hi all,

Basically I've recently road map my evo 8 and a mate of mine dyno map his and my question is what is better road map or dyno tune? Reason why I'm asking is that we just want a full understanding when it comes to both road map and dyno map.....

Done both too can't really say if either is better?

Both require revving the nuts off the car.

Can't say the maps where overly different by Gaz at GR performance (dyno) and had loads of road maps by Simon@NTS.

The map before Si and Gaz got their hands on it wasn't the best though, very spikey and some random stuff in there.

road map imo. more true to life, real resistance on car, winds ect. a dyno is just more controlled but what figures you get on a dyno wont be replicated on road

Thank you for all your opinions.
I do prefer road map to be honest specialy mine was mapped by a reputable man in here and he was so helpful I couldn't fault him. My car feels so smoother and boost is stable unlike the old map I had previously....

I'd say using the right tuner is much more important than whether they use road or dyno. Go with a reputable company and you should be happy with the results. My last car was dyno'd, the evo is getting road mapped next week by NR Autosport and I'm confident I'll be happy with the results
