Hi guys need your opinion please.
Not long had the car and the old battery is dead and knackered. Charged it and it started the car a couple of times before being dead again.
Bought a new battery last night from halfords, took it for a good run after fitting it. Put the car in the garage didnt alarm it, and today at 4pm the new battery is dead aswell wouldnt even turn the engine over for 5 seconds, I have noticed that it seems a struggle to turn over i.e very slow even with new battery, could this be a starter motor issue causing the slow start and killing the battery.

what size battery did you buy? it might be the alternator not charging, what voltage do you see across the battery when the car is running? should be 14v+

i'd start there before looking at the starter motor

Starter turns over but very slow as if the battery was flat even though it wasnt at the time.
Not tested alternator.
Earth points on battery have been cleaned up and a few other places where I have seen earth points.

Exactly the same with jump leads.
Had the alternator tested and is charging at 14.4v not brilliant but should be ok, battery has been tested and is fine.
I have just now replaced with much bigger cable the earth from the battery to the body and the earth from the battery to the block, it bolts on to the bolt to the gearbox to the block. All with proper ring terminals, but still turns over like a dead battery and if it doesnt fire straight away the battery will not turn it over any more.

Right quick update.
Took off the old starter not got replacement yet , took it apart everything covered in black crap. Cleaned everything up put it all back together and it starts great now. Still need to get a replacement as this one is on its last legs with worn everything and bushes knackered. But happy now.
