Oils and fluids for you Evo

As i have a spare 10mins i thought i would write a little guide to what fluids to use in your evo.

Engine Oil
A good fully synthetic 5w 40 is pefect in most conditions.

The Silkolene Titan Race is rated to 130 degrees before it starts to break down and i have only ever reached 115 degrees in my evo 8 with a standard oil cooler on a track day.

However when running higer HP i.e 400/400 i recomend you use a Fully synthetic 10w 60. The reason behind this is that when you have your car tuned it is possible to contaminate your oil with fuel, a 10W 60 can handle this contamination alot better than a 5w 40 can

Drive train oils
I use the same oil in my transfer box and gear box. This being millers CRX NT 75w 90. I recomend this oil for all applications as it offers excellent protection for all states of tune... however its not cheap so a Silkolene 75w 90 will surfice.

In the rear Diff i use a limited slip oil,, this being Millers CRX ls 75w 90. this is not set in stone and you can use the same oil as your gear box but this oil is for a more modified state of tune and/or racing/trackdays application.

Brakes
I use Motul RBF 600 and is perfect for road and race with an excellent boiling point.

Coolant
The Evo is a very efficent car when it come to cooling evin in the summer months. I recomend using Comma xtream green on a 50/50 mix if its a concerntrate you buy. (you can buy ready mix)

Great bit of info there, thanks very much. What temps are those oil and coolants good for? Going on a big test drive from here to Poland in December. Gets to -25 there.

I handt forgot,,, just cant think of what its called for the life of me

i buy mine direct from mitsubishi and it costs approx £10 a litre

Is it Amosil ATF fluid ??

Or I think you can use most ATF as long as it's dextron 111

That right ??

I Think you will find that it is called DiaQueen ATF (III),re-branded after the Diadem change over :whistling: :whistling: :whistling:
