ok peeps here it goes everytime i drive my car when i stop lets say at a round about or where ever the oil light in the speedo dial kind of flickers on and off then like its decided whether to tell me there is low oil in the engine but when i rev the engine or drive away the light goes away and doesnt come back till i stop but not all the time:confused:.

so i checked the engine oil and the level was on the first notch and the oil was verry clean still golden and see through not black or anytin like that, so i topped the oil up with a litre bottle But the light still flickers when i come to a stop but goes when i drive off.

So just wondering if any of you EVO nerds:whistling: know whats gwaanin or if its just noting..

Cheers G.

Could the oil mean low oil in the diff or the A-yaw diff...

Im going to book the car in to get checked out at my local tuners. plus book it in for a complete oil change and fluid change

It sometimes can be a bad connection on the oil pressure switch that causes a similar problem clean up the contacts on the switch and the plug terminal

Highly likely!

Also quite possible as it has been known to happen on many occasions!

I would take it back to the dealer you bought it from kiddo!

I presume they gave you some sort of warranty in the deal and therefore they should rectify the issue.

Do not get an oil change until the issue is cured through the dealer.

Keep us posted.

Ooooh weee got scared there bout the oil pressure thing. Went to my nearest tuner garage cos i know the owner and they work till stupid oclock every day cos they are hella busy, he took a look at my evo and i told him about my flickering light he did what jamie suggested and checked the oil pressure switch and cleaned it and checked the connections and what do you know the problem has not come back.

Don`t worry i did not pay a thing it was a quick fix plus he is my m8 and i spent shit loads there when i had my skyline tuning the beast.

So thanks peeps for the helping hand.....

CATASTROPHIC CIRCUMSTANCES AVOIDED DUE TO THE INSIGHT OF EVO OWNERS.

Your right m8 i understand what you are saying if something occurs i will take it straight to the dealer after getting suggestions of here of what it could be so i go there with knowledge ya get me got to go prepped.

my m8 did say that this is a common problem with some EVO models thats why he knew what to do after i mentioned what jamie suggested in the post.
Mainly part degradation and dirt build up causes this.

Exactly!

Well since El agrees then i can go to sleep with out a prob:razz: but stuff like this when there is no mechanical fault is expected, i had a few in the skyline just mostly dirty plugs or connectors from age of the car no biggie.

Dirt is the biggest culprit, deterioration is not that high on the list though.

It's all the muck on the roads and the fact that when it rains it pours!

Quite the opposite of what it is like in the middle and far east which is where the cars look after themselves unless they are red, in which case, they start to peel quick fast!!!
