wonder when the XI actually comes out. should look good......im sure you mean 9(IX)

have you checked your oil level? an oil change might help, that if a change hasn't been done in the last year.

Personally you shouldn't drive a car when oil light comes on, its an oil pressure switch, could mean oil pump is failing, blocked, worn. many reasons. Best get it looked at.

oil pressure switch is usually on the block of the engine. yes oil could be too thin/thick.
if you dont know what oil was used, best to get it out and put the correct oil in.

give the terminal a clean on the pressure sensor.....you might be lucky ;)

if thats no good then get the pressure checked before driving it anymore as it could end in tears.

It will be best to run an oil pressure test, that will most likely determine where the fault lies. I suspect it is the switch that may have gone.

If you have had the oil changed at a professional Garage then there can not have been a wrong oil type used as they all go by the book.

Sponners has offered some sound advice, clean the terminal and check that the dip stick is fully inside the housing. The next time it flickers will be the best time to check the dip stick.

Keep us posted on how you get on.
