Oil light flicker. Engine flush.

New to evos so bare with me :)

On my evo 6 got oil light flicker occasionally. I have noticed the sump has been sealed using copper coloured sealant.

Could I use engine flush in my evo to make sure it's clean internally before I drop the oil out as the oil pickup might be blocked. It's a one way oil feed on these engines I read.

I mean put engine oil in at the parts shop on operating temp then drive it home steadily 5 mins away then drop it out?

Any suggestions?

If the pickups blocked it will be blocked, drop the sump off and inspect if you think theirs an oil restriction, but personally id be taking out the oil pressure switch and fitting a manual gauge to check actual pressure from cold and then hot.

Ok thanks mate.

So putting flush in for 5 mins will not be good for an evo. I will use cheap oil to flush.

What are the signs of a bad oil switch?

What oil filter would you recommend?

No chunks. Yes I will I think I will do a oil change in a month as that's how much I drive it haha, lives on the drive.

Drain the oil cooler??? How do you do that? Oil on dipstick looks like honey not dirty. Drained it mega hot.
