How are they oil filler caps with a screw fitment?

Seems strange but they do screw in, if u take original out and look at your rocker cover there is a lip inside, I guess in some way the lip fits into the grooves of the cap as it screws down??

I do believe the top is a sorta silver/ brushed aluminium look which says spirit of competition on it, But I could be wrong, although I have seen them before and I thick I am correct
