last night after racing my mates sti, having a total of 7 runs my 4 started smoking!
popped the hood & saw the oil dipstick out.
it was pissing out oil on to the exhaust which was letting of some serious smoke.
it was a very well foggy evening for my mates sti, as i left him 3 cars every run with a weak clutch lol
i have topped up 3 litres of oil to the mark & got the engine steam washed.
its running fine, with smoke cleared.
the dipstick is not so firm when in postion.
could it be i was hammering the daylights out of it as i was told by someone that this issue is common on the 4's

I spotted you this morning at around 11:30 am on Medlicott Road. It seemed to be running all right!!!

You want to crimp the dip stick housing very slightly to ensure it does not happen again.

It is common on the Evo's and only occurs when driven extra hard. Usually it triggers the check engine light too.

The way you are driving, I would not be surprised if the Dif pops on you. Try and source one so you know where to go when the inevitable happens.

actually fingers.....................it's probably what happened BEFORE you blew your engine and might even be WHY you blew it:confused:

are you back on road yet?

a temp sensor is a good idea if your the kind of driver i am. looks after your head gasket so aint a bad thing. oil pressure sensor is a MUST either way.

Dave,
I am sure that the car has an oil pressure sensor buddy, perhaps you are referring to an oil pressure gauge here???
