Oh FXXX

Out for a blast last night in the E4, must admit was ragging it a bit, when all of a sudden without notice there is a loss of power, look in the rear view mirror and I am chucking out light grey smoke that the red arrows would be proud of. Pulled over to see the same smoke coming from under the bonnet. Upon investigation as you look at the engine the back left corner is smothered in oil and the dipstick has been pushed up from its holder. Cant see any visible damage but was just putting it out there so members could put me in the right direction:sad:

was the smoke comming out the exhaust as well or just under the bonnet ?

is it totaly out of oil ?

and dose it still run at all ?

Yeah, smoke out of exhaust and also bonnet, but I think the bonnet smoke might have been the oil just hitting every hot bit of metal under bonnet. It turns over but wont fire, probably due to oil covering everything

what you have described sounds very similar to what happened to me when i owned my glanza, mine was the turbo. and like you were, i was also on the loud pedal when this happened. not sure if this helps.

out come was a new turbo from turbo technics, well they rebuilt the old one. the car was under warranty and very luckily i managed to get them to pay for the bill of £1100.

If it happens to be the turbo, I have a spare e4 turbo here, works fine the only thing I can say is wrong is the waste gate flap rattles abit, which is an easy fix just needs a touch of weld on it,

You can have it of you pay postage, only reason I changed it as I went for an EVO 8mr turbo,
