Occasional stalling while coasting/clutch in

Hey everyone, first time posting here. I have just bought an evo 4 and overall I'm really happy with it. Except one small problem. If I go to change gear at 5000rpm and above and leave the clutch in for about a second too long the revs will drop down below idle and it will stall. Sometimes it will catch itself at about 400-600 rpm but most times it just stalls. Any ideas on what could be causing this? It's pretty scary at night especially because the lights go out and I loose powersteering. Hoping it is a quick and easy fix!

Also the car is almost completely factory, only mods are a different blow of valve and a bigger exhaust

Its the blow off valve causing problem, either have it mapped in correctly or swap it out for a recirculating dump valve with adjustable spring so you can find happy medium between not stalling and sound. Evos dont like vta valves out of the box

The person I bought it off said he used to clog the blow of valve up and said he never had the problem I am experiencing so you're probably right, how do you mean mapped in?

Well if you get the car mapped with the valve on it then the mapper can adjust parameters to stop it stalling

Deffo the dump valve.... i take it its a vent to atmosphere? I bought my e8 with a dump on and it did the same so i bought a e9 metal recirc valve and its never done it since, you do loose most of the noise like. I thought a vta wouldnt work with the airflow meter??

Yeah it is vent to atmosphere and not a recirculating dump valve, can anyone reccomend a good brand of recirculating dump valve to buy?

I was told by a couple of specialists that an evo 9 metal one would be easy good enough.....depends what your after really, if its the noise your after look at others as the standard isnt loud at all but didnt really bother me.....but i do miss it a little bit

Noise is nice but i would prefer a car that isn't going to stall while going much faster than I should be haha, I'll have a look around for some thanks
