o2 sensor

been reading up bout my problem with only revving to 2k and came across a few sites that have found the o2 sensor causing this.

how would i rule this out? just disconect it?

also the problem is not there wen first start the carr so its heat related im guessing so this would also point to o2 sensor?

the o2 is used during closed loop to get the emissions right so you should be going into open loop if you put your foot down, have you put it on a diagnostic machine yet to see what the sensors are reading?

no not yet, the mechanic i would put my car into is 30 miles away from were my evo is sitting,

can u explain wot closed loop and open loop means? iv heard these being meantioned

closed loop is general idle and cruise and its where the ecu looks at the o2 sensor and see's if the mixture is lean or rich, if its rich the ecu will take a little fuel out and if lean it will add fuel, this is why its called closed loop as its constantly checking the mixture. When in open loop the ecu just read an amount of fuel to add and just adds that amount and doesn't measure the mixture and why its called open loop as theres no feedback,
