number plate help please

signed upto this forum the other day as I have finally got myself a Evo8.
Will get some pics up of it in the week.
I don't like the the big black number plate surround on the front bumper so I took it off today thinking that I could just fix the plate to the bumper and then I found 3holes that the bolts go into. Was just after some ideas as what I can do to get rid of the plastic holder for the plate.
any info would be good, cheers

Welcome along, you might have abit more luck if you out up a newbie post etc

Welcome along pal. I have the same issue as I have replace my bumper and didn't realise I bought a gsr bumper for my fq, I have out my square plate on the front and cut half of the number plate holder off so I only have one hole to sort out but I will be using mesh behind and pour some 2 part resin into the hole, once dry sand and paint and that should be job done

Cheers for that. Yeah I think I might get the square plate like the imports then get the holes touched up.

Any good body shop or competent body worker will be ok with it mate. Ill be putting a smaller bike plate on at some point just big enough to use 2 of the existing holes, just don't have the time at the mo, also need a splitter as my car undressed itself at 140mph, bloody thing

No luckily it was just a standard one that the lugs on the back had been repaired...... They didn't hold lol.

Another thing I wanted to ask was do you plan on using the bolts to fix the number plate onto the bumper or sticky pads? Just the bolts are big and bronze aint they.

Sticky pads most probably, unless I cut the plate holder down a bit more to the size of a small plate, Ill get a pic of mine now all cut up

Yeah I like the look of that. Will have a go at cutting mine down.
