Nub question (coolant)

i know its a complete amature question but im being honest, what coolant do i need to top up my 8? is the stuff labled 'antifreeze' from Halfords? or is it a coolant?

personally i'd get summer coolant and use that all year round. its gonna get hot under that bonnet either way.

RSmark is right, you could do that or just go for a Summer & Winter job, If you look on the container you will notice they have temperature ratings.

A -30 to +50 is a good one to go for.

oh and i wouldn't bother with antifreeze, bit early in the year for it....Roll on summer.

personal opinion, ive always used 'proper' coolant in winter as our winters aren't really cold enough to freeze the fluids in the engine, hoses etc.

am not sure what it al ready has in, am only looking to top up, but would you recommend draining the system and replacing the coolant with a summer coolant? could you guys recommend any plz?

depends when it was last drained.

if it needs doing, summer coolant, seeing as summers almost here and any make will do.

winter coolant for winter.
drain your system twice a year.
