Apologies for resurecting an old thread but....

Kempston conman Dominic Townsend and Daniel Martin, formerly of Bedford, handed jail sentences | Bedfordshire News

I too was conned out of over £500 by this Daniel Martin for a second hand Canon camera on Gumtree.

He claimed to be on the Isle of Wight and worked for a parcel company, plus he also tried to claim we hadn't sent enough money.

Once we realised that the story wasn't adding up - we phoned the parcel company and they had no record of him or the parcel we contacted the police and told him to refund the money and he then dissapeared.

Whilst the local police were not interested as it was an Internet crime, we followed it further to the national team dealing with Internet fraud, this coupled with some home detective work traced his IP address back to a property in the Luton area and his bank details to the same place.

Whilst this has taken over two years to come to fruition, I for one am very glad this PoS and his co-conspititor have now been brought to justice. It is unliklly I will see my money again, but at least he hasn't got away with the crimes.

Please please please repost this link to anywhere else this scumbag has been operating - everyone needs to know what he is and the personal damage and loss he has inflicted on real people - fyi, myself and my wife were the couple in the news story who had to cancel parts of our wedding due to this happening to us.

Ok, I wasn't expecting that kind of reply....

Yes, this is my first post here - I don't have an Evo or any current plans to get one, I just happened across this post as I searched for other people that this pair have scammed in the past. I for one appreciate some closure on stuff like this, and I was posting to inform those on here that have been scammed by these guys that justice has been done.

As for having no relevance to the forum - if you've read back through the original post, this relates to a pair of criminals taking hard earned money from forum members for car parts advertised on the forum with no intention of supply, so I believe it does have relevance.

If you don't want to click a link to a national website then fine, but check the urs coding behind the link to see that it is genuine or even use the power of Google to search for the keywords - Daniel Martin Dominic Townsend Luton conmen and see what comes back.

I am not a conman, I am a victim of these people. If you don't wish to believe it then fine, but I am sure there are others on here who will be interested in this.
