ok, been pratting around with the RS for half a day now, almost given up.

Fuel pump just clicks when key is turnt over, never known off this to happen before. Anyone have an idea off why it would click?

Pump has seen a few hundred miles and ive fitted a new fuel pump relay today.

any suggestions please. Thanks.

Hi Mark,
I presume that the clicking sound is emanating from your relay buddy. Is the pump sending fuel to the engine or not???
If not, then check the positive and negative behind the relay to ensure it is working and then check the pump by disconnecting the line to the engine and give the key a quick turn to see if the pump is sending fuel.

If not then you need to check that there is both a positive and negative current at the plug in the pump.

I had a customer with the same problem and he had done his nut in looking for the break in the current and ended up sending a direct feed from the battery to the pump. His pump lasted a few days as it stayed on all the time.

When he came to me with a walbro in hand, I connected it to the Cigar Lighter so he got an ignition start which was what it should be as his wiring was really messed up.

will be going out to see if there is any differance. im going to remove the relay and see if there are more than 1 way of it fitting in the 'socket' ie right way round etc.

Will try to start the engine with the relay out, listen for noise
start engine with pump wires disconected, listen for noise etc.

at the moment im getting a click from the relay, so i know thats working
but at the same time i get a click from the pump, which souldn't happen, it should buzz.

shame i dont have a voltmeter handy.

doesn't seem to be any power at the fuel pump.

Oh and its not clicking at the pump either
