Hi all.
I put 7 litres of normal unleaded in it. Ever since it misses when it boosts. The hotter it gets the more it misses.

Any one had this? What damaged does unleaded do?

I did put £30 of super in but it didnt make any difference. Would it damage injectors or anything like that?

Might change fuel filter. will check the plugs tomorrow. When I drove it earlier it was still missing when I parked it up

thats extreme bad luck if you have buggered something by puttin 7 litres in, i used to use normal all the time as it says on my cap i can use, but later found the cars are mapped for higher octane and knock on lower stuff. check the basics as said, if you can get a cam inside the cylinders that wont go a miss, but also just check boost pipes an vaccume hoses as might jus be a coincidence as like i say that would be real bad luck

I did have a split in the wastegate pipe but have replaced that and its still the same. I hope I haven't done a piston. Will get plugs out tonight and have a look.
Thanks people

Well ive taken the out. They were knackered. Contact had got very small and pointy. Put new ones in. It runs better but still missfires and splutters around 3500 rpm when boosting up. There is a small split in a ht lead so was going to replace them next.

Would the unleaded do any damage to injectors?

No it wont damage the injector. If your ht lead is damaged then that needs to be sorted as it may be giving weaker signal to that cylinder so wont be firing cleanly. It would be a knocking noise you would be looking for if lower fuel was the problem. Ill be honest though you can use normal in an emergency as you wont always be able to get top fuel, but at earliest point you should put peoper stuff in. I think your cause to the peob is elsewhere so get the lead changed new plugs and go from there

Think that's how the tips are on iridium plugs, get some new coikpacks if the leads are split I had this happen on one of my old cars and it was arching on the head, would idle fine and drive normal but under boost missfired like crazy

0.6 bout right what im running on the evo 7 engine, Mmm if i was in your situation id be looking at hard-wiring the fuel pump to eliminate that or putting a new one in or it could be the coil pack/s also see if the ecu as any error codes stored or failing doing those get her booked into a evo specialist mukka

I was thinking could be coil packs breaking up when hot. Not sure how common this is. Will get it plugged in to see for errors. Its almost like its premature combustion
