Yh what's the availability on these kits pal, I jus watched how its done and looks straight forward to be honest. Obviously ill check the fault first but it looks like it's the pump given the symptoms

Fault code 82 flashed up just now. Need to look into it but also ignition on and foot on accelerator and first time I heard a click but after that each time I done it, nothing..... Can't hear the pump.

Code 82 is pump fail. Most likely down to not making enough pressure.
This is down to corrosion inside the pump and seems alot of VIII's suffer with this.
No idea as to why Mitsi thought it was a good idea to mount the pump behind the wheels cos then its just constantly covered in all the crap off the roads.

Hopefully the whole body hasn't turned to mush and you can rebuild it !

I asked on MLR a few months ago if there was a relocation kit to the boot and got told WHY would i want to do that................ this is the reason, and then a few weeks ago a trader popped up with a kit, think it was around £400 and after a good refurb, would stop the pump from this sort of problem in the future :razz:

Well I got it up in the air at the moment, gonna check the plugs first off fuses are all ok, so it's lookin more and more likely, how ever the pump isn't kickin in at all, acc hard down and ignition on and nothing

There is a company that sell do it your self recon kits and they have a how to video on YouTube. It looks pretty easy to be honest.

Yh there is a guy here on this post that does the kit too, looks straight forward, just the corrosion thats the issue but nothing different to what I'm used to at work. I pulled the pump off today after a few tests.

The motor isn't working at all I put power straight to the motor and it's just sparked, drew too much current and fused the wire so my guess is that the motor is seized, also the pump on the outside looks a lol worse for wear so prob got the issue of corrosion inside too so ill be reconning it myself. One thing I need to know is the relay for the ayc? Is it the one on the fire wall under. The bonnet to the left of the abs???

Well started pulling it apart this morning. Really corroded bad. Bearing the motor sits in was seized and the motor a lil clogged up so I have pulled the motor apart, freed the bearing and now the motor runs sweet as a nut. So I have started makin some o rings, will be popping to get a bearing once I got the old one out and new bolts had to grind the heads off the bolts and need to remove the remainder of them after tea break.

So calgon would have stopped that? Haha yh I know it looks bad. The pump isn't budging now I've soaked it in ac90 and left it for a hour or so

It's strange, all the corrosion and there was next to none on the other side of the pump. Need new pump how ever, they are a tad brittle
