No Boost,at all!!?

well lads,went out this evening to take my 4 for a spin,started her and let it warm up as normal,drove out the gate and as i went up the revs it was like somebody had taken away the turbo,there is absolutely no boost and its slower than my 1.3 colt..not even enough to put a hiss out the bov.kinda worried that its something serious..was driving fine lastnight.

Hi buddy,
It would be wise to check all pipe work leading off the turbo, the solenoid etc.

ok il check that when i get home from work.i was talking to a lad that tunes them down my way,said i should check the actuator,anybody know how to do this?he also said my turbo could just be knackered!

I was sure I told you to check all pipe work and then you changed the actuator but the fault was with the vacuum pipe connection to the boost gauge. Are we on the same page or have I lost the plot???

yes i admit you did el,and i checked them all,except behind the dash,it didnt enter my head,my actuator was actually gone though because i fitted the new one on thursday i think and it was running fine the leak on the pipe was just dropping my boost which i found yesterday.the original problem was no boost at all because the actuator was stuck open!

all sorted now she is a rocket!keeping boost at 1.3 bar just to be safe(cant afoord to be buying a new engine at the moment)haha! cheers EL

A fairy tale ending for the beasty!!!

Buddy, I wanted to post "I told you so" but when I went through the thread I could not find my post so I thought that I must have been day dreaming

Then I thought you may have had 2 separate posts for the same issue but I had no time on my hands as I had too many things on my plate and I did not want to come over as a know it al, know one likes them

Any way, I decided to get Sponners on the case as I knew he had pics for the relevant bits and he came in quick to say the least!!!

I think you need to say thanks to him too as he was there for you buddy!!!

Job done and the beast is out and about so it is all good
