Hi Folks. I've been toying with scratching the Evo Itch (maybe with an Evo 8 fq 320?). Currently have a Clio 182 Trophy and a 205 1.9 Gti which are both great but I'm sure the Evo's are in a different league when it comes to all round performance. A good thing about hot hatches though is that they can easilly carry mountain bikes. Can the boot/rear seats in an Evo take a bike with the wheels removed or is some sort of rack required? Any advice appreciated

Cheers, I'd rather try to squeeze it in the car but a roof rack is always an option. Pity the rear seats don't fold but it looks like the wheels would fit in the boot and the frame in the back (in a bag with the rear seats protected). I suppose tilting the front seat forward would give a bit more space (maybe even enough to fit a snowboard?) Gotta consider these things if it's gonna be my only car...

Yea you wont regret it :whistling: I keep toying with the idea of getting a newer evo but iv done so much to mine to make it individual i just cant bear to sell it

Fair point. Car looks pretty menacing BTW. Sure a standard car would be quick enough for me but there's always the temptation.......

Certainly an interesting option. Can't say Ive ever seen one on the road either so would consider that for the rarity factor. Alternatively, I'll just ride my bike to view cars then try to squeeze it in. Can't see many sellers being too chuffed at that though!

Must admit in the past I've generally kept my cars standard but Evos (and most other fast Japanese cars) seem ripe for tuning so that may change. Not the real thing I know but my GSR on Gran Turismo 5 has responded very well to some tweaks (everything you can do to it)

as for the bike, yes it can be done with both wheels off in the boot, quick release roof racks would be better though

That actually looks pretty cool. Few and far between in the clasifieds though I bet. Not many estate cars would be able to hang onto that on a twisty road (Audi RS4 Included).

Cheers, where there's a will there's a way. How's your Fq300? Is there a noticable difference between 300, 320, 340 etc? or is it best just to ignore the numbers and seek out the best car in terms of condition, miles etc?

Thanks for all your replies folks. You seem like a decent bunch. My girlfriend may think I've gone crazy, the neighbours may shake their heads, my fuel bills will rise but WTF. Always fancied a fast rally-bred car and the Mitsubishi always seemed like the best bet. Bring it on......
