Newbie. Some advice

Hi everyone how are you all doing??
A bit about myself im currently based in Germany.
Family man. Currently selling my subaru and i have decided to see what mitsubishi are all about.
This is a area of unknown for me as i have never even drove one.
So any advice is welcome. i.e what to watch out for etc
Im not sure what i want just yet just looking around. Planning on coming back to the uk in jan to buy a car so i have got enough time to research through the internet. thanks again

The Evo is an all round better car compared to the Impreza.

What to look for will depend entirely on your budget.

id say a better condition 4, maybe a decent 5 if you look hard enough and wait for the one!! just look out for the usual stuff with cars and maybe this will help too....

I would not touch that with a barge pole to be honest with you.

First you would need to strip that hideous kit off the car and find a genuine bumper/splitter.

Then you would need to take the engine out and make sure it was built PROPERLY.

After that, you would need to build it up again and re-fit it.

He offers no guarantee that it will fire up or run right either! :whistling: :whistling: :whistling:

It has been for sale for some time now and I am sure there is another Thread floating around dedicated to this particular IV.

O right thanks cant bet a bit of research before you buy. This is pretty unknown area for me i have been a scooby man since i got my driving license.

Just carry on posting links on this Thread of anything that you are considering and we will help you out as much as possible.

As tempting as it may sound, price wise, you will not benefit from buying a project car or an Evo that needs work on it as you will be taking it overseas and have already stated that you know nothing about them.

That is a recipe for disaster in my opinion and not a road worth going down!

Yes def thanks. Exactly as soon as i buy it. It will be making a 600 mile journey back to germany in 12 worth of non stop driving so dont fancy it braking down. In terms of service what is the best oil to use as i know i will need to do that as soon as i get back.

You may be better off getting it serviced before you set off back unless you find someone that has had the car serviced fairly recently with documented history.

AYC Fluid, Dif and Gear Oils are just as important as engine oil as you need to protect the drive train, especially when it can work out a lot more expensive to rectify than an engine job!

I generally use and recommend Millers 10w40 engine oil but everyone has their own ideas of which is the best grade and brand to go for.

It ultimately depends on what engine modifications are in place etc.

barrie from dcy is a good lad, give him a call and he will be able to help ya out, if you can try and go for a e5 not a e4, the e5 will be better to tune than the 4 due to the remappable ecu. good hunting you wont be disappointed with it.

yes............... yes............. yes............ yes lol

you can fit a e5 or e6 ecu in the e4 ( e6 is the better one) you might have to do a small bit of wiring but the guys on here will tell you what to do, it just opens up alot more options.
