Newbie looking for advice please

Hi new to the site looking for abit of advice on evo's!!

I've currently got a 310bhp toyota glanza go's well but abit laggy and I'm looking at getting in to the bigger jap cars now as my mrs is pregnant so need a bigger car and I'm liking the older Evo 5 or 6 so just after some advice on what to look for and be aware of as I've never owned an Evo before! Pro's and cons?

Same as any car, the more history the better and get it checked underneath for rust,be aware but not always put off by freshly under sealed cars as it is sometimes done to hide rot.

Agree with that too.


You'll need a powerful one if your wanting to be in the same league as your glanza! :shock:

My friend owns one that was the most powerful in the Uk or something, running 390 on the 1.3 engine!

pros-too many to add simply put........awesome to drive

cons - servicing intervals

pros - compared to your laggy FWD toyota the AWD handling and responsiveness of
a V/VI on a standard turbo will be much better.

cons - they're 14-15 year old now so choose a good one and keep on top of servicing

My second car was a glanza and i loved it! the evo is the ONLY next step up in my opinion

Pros - you wont spin the front wheels and get torque steer in the Evo anywhere near as much as you do in the Glanza. More space, 4 doors.

Cons - As already mentioned.

I guess you TD04'd your Glanza then or possibly went one more!

GT Turbo over Glanza for me but then i'm biased
