Hi all,

I am looking to buy my first evo, I am really looking to buy an evo 9 MR fq 340, but I am being swayed by some others I am seeing such as evo 8 fq 320, evo 9 fq 320 etc.

I might go and test drive a fq320 tmro.Some questions.

Is there a huge difference in power between a 320 and 340, or is it ok?

Is the evo 9 a much better car than evo 8(ie driveabilty etc),or is it jus small differences?

Am I better to try and get one with some manufacturers warranty still on it?

What is the max mileage to go for?

And is there any tips for things to look out for?

Welcome!
The difference between the 8 and 9 is quite small. The bigest change was the engine has the MIVEC on the 9.
Mileage is dependant really. They are good for well over 100k. If you plan to do 20k a year maybe a lower milage one should be better but if you maybe only do 5k you might want to save a bit and get a higher one 60 - 80k for example. Providing they are serviced properly they are fine...

ive got evo 9 320 tested 340 when brought mine no difference the only thing to consider when buying is resale the 340 isint as good on fuel etc if i were you go for evo 9 engines turbo cuts in lower down rev range more refined engine also only buy one with full service history from main dealer if under 3 yrs old the only advise when buying one is look the car if its very clean inside /out you can count the owner has treated it like a baby and try to get one with a tracker fitted .

I went to look at the evo 8 it was really good however just didnt think id be happy with it cos I want a 9. Need to test drive one. Thats what I wanted to hear, should really test drive both anyway, I wanted a 340 cos its in the middle of 320 and 360, but if theres no difference then why bother. Is a 360 just brutal on fuel?

Really wantin a 9 mr fq, hopefully silver got bit of soft spot for them, know any good ones about? cheers
