Hi all it looks like Iam going to have to replace my turbo on evo 8 260 will this be a good time to upgrade if so wots best ??

alot of people reckon the evo 9 turbo is a good upgrade as it is faster spooling and is capable of blowing around 400bhp with some supporting mods if your not planning to forge your engine it would probably be your best imo

hi mate it depends what mods you have and how much power you want if you want big hp go for the bigger e9 turbo as a start .

but if your keeping hp down and want super fast response then you might want to consider the old rs/ tommy mak turbo .

i had one on my e4 so punchy and held boost well ,good spool from 2000 rpm .

only sold it as i got a amazing deal on my tomei m7960 20g .

but the new tomei is laggy compaired to the mak turbo and i miss the lively low down response i use to have :O)

Got no mods at the min only had the car a short time are these turbos easy to fit

evo turbo are quite easy to fit just try and get any pipes that where fitted to the replacment turbo ,ie e9 turbo + all pipes to fit on yours e8 just to be sure it will fit .

i believe there is more than one e9 turbo option so be sure to get the right one .

somthing about 80 series turbo ??? but not sure never really looked in to it " jumped streight to a aftermarket one :O)

but dont over look the mak turbo have heard they can bo good up to 400hp with the right mod's

I have an MR turbo that will be for sale soon, has done 3000miles since new, very good condition, will be looking for around the £400 mark delivered
