New to evo ownership, 2 problems

Hello,

I recently purchased a evo and after a long journey home(350miles),it was struggling to idle below 2k, it would drop after being sat for a few seconds but after driving it again, same thing would happen. I read a couple of suggestions on here that I will try tomorrow but any help would be appreciated.

Secondly, in 5th gear on hard acceleration, the car would judder before gaining full boost. Am I correct in thinking this is fuel starvation or is there something else I need to look into?

Sounds as though your boost duty and fueling might need a tweak get it to a specialist tuner to get it checked.

Is the car standard of modified ?

Apart from exhaust and dump valve its standard. Ill have a look today and then look into taking it to a specialist. Thank you for replying.

Dump valve! When I had one on my car apart from it stalling I think my cars way to deal with it was to raise the revs temporarily before it drops to idle, put a Recirc on it mate.

could be clutch, mine went... again... but it's hard to tell cos this time it wasn't slipping, but the last one did so was hard to tell for sure ( unless you take it out) wether it is the clutch, different clutches display different signs of when they are on their way out as i have found out the hard way, first one slipped, then would stall the car as soon as i pressed the clutch, this one is a bugger to get in any gear and makes a horrible grinding noise.

Ok, ill get someone to have a look at the clutch for me, its not slipping, and only moves the car and struggles in reverse once i have fully warmed it up and driven about 6 miles

yea best get it seen to then you'll know for sure what's up with it, cos i could be wrong, let us know what the problem is though, once you get it seen to.

Have a look at plugs, mine had slight judder few weeks back, plugs were messy. LOL. And forge bovs normally good. I got one and never had a problem.
