Hi everyone,
I’m a new member on here, but ive owend my evo 5 for just over 3 years now.
The car was running about 370bhp with stage one mods but with HKS 272 cams.
Unfortunately about two weeks ago my engine decided it had enough and went bang on the motorway.
I’ve have found a replacement engine a fully forged one from (Tariq) Evo parts who’s a trader on here, (Hes probably had enough of me keep texting him and calling him everyday asking how's he gettin on).
Anyway So hopefully it will be back on the road by the end of the month.
Can’t wait to get back in her again.

Yes mate runing stadard parts so i know it was a matter of time before it had enough and went bang.

I hope not mate.
I must of had something wrong with the car in the first place as i was told that stadard parts are good for upto 400bhp.

maybe, maybe not? Some go pop at 300 think kin's did(sorry fella) some go to 400 moding is a risk but as long as it's mapped well you should be fine!? I think the thing with the 5 is the piston's same as the 4 don't like to much boost. I may be wrong tho? Sure lee will no. think there the same design, big ring land's. I was told to get 6+ piston's for my rebuild as there a lot better.

plus anything can go wrong! Oil pump etc some are lucky some aint. Me being the 2nd lol if it can go wrong it normally does! So that's wry i getting bits from an 8!

the engine has alot of movin parts and in effect its a machine and as we all know machines break from time to time so who is to say at what power level it will fail, also there are other factors to take into account like is it mapped properly and safe. and also what if an injector were to play up. that could screw an engine
