hi all i have recently bought my first evo and love every minute of it. i just have a few few questions regarding a couple of tweaks etc first i have moved to live in germany and the emmissions test are realy keen here and not sure if it will pass the test so was wondering if there is any thing i could do to help it through, the car has ss exhaust but still has the cat and is running a hks dual boost controller (which i have no idea how to operate lol). and secondly i will need some winter /m&s tyres to comply with the law over hear and wondered what was the smallest wheel would fit as it is fitted with the e5 4 pot brembos under 215/35/r17s or the second option is to fit a 225/45/r17 ms tyres if it would go under the arches

Yes the 225/45 tyres will go under the arches, but it will catch badly on the lining. So some trimming will be required. You need to stick with 215/35 tyres.

yea as mark said, stick to the 215 not a 225 cos you will probably have arch rubbing issues.

shoot cant get any 215 snow tyres here so will 15" or 16" fit over the e5 brembos as that is my othere option

16" wheels wont fit over your brakes. can you get a 215/45/17 cos thats what my mate had on his lowered iv with evo 8 wheels although he did have to carefully tap the lip of the rear arches round to stop them rubbing :)

For the emissions test it might be touch and go.

Get a good quality fuel additive that will help you through the emissions test.

I am sure you can get all M&S sizes over there as they are readily available over here (many a tyre, new and part worn, are imported from Germany).

Have you thought of going down a size to 205???

It is a possibility, as many a Rally Driver prefer to go smaller than 205 in snow! ;)
