Need new Clutch/flywheel

Greetings,

What clutch brand/type would you all recommend for an Evo V
*Daily Driver. 300/300 at the wheels.*

Mine is slipping hard in 2nd, and started to make a deep humming noise like there is an airplane hiding inside. Might need a new tranny to be honest.

Had OEM clutch replaced by mitsu dealership about 4 years ago.

Any help appreciated!

Exedy organic single plate. Had mine in nearly two years all good

Or you could opt for the Helix Organic as it leaves room for around another 30 to 40 horse power, which might come in handy later on down the line...

sounds good, i think i'm pretty much at max unless I get internals forged or whatnot. So Exedy and Helix are the way to go I see.

How's Organic compared to others?

With a Helix unit, you can not go wrong.

Are the one clutch really bad or something? I always see people writing about how the stock clutch is always the first thing to go and so on...

The stock clutch is rated to around 300BHP.

It is a Daikin / Exedy unit.

It will fail eventually considering how most owners drive and that most owners also up the boost etc. which is something that the stock clutch was not really designed to handle, hence needing to go aftermarket.

The Helix is great as you still have the same pedal and it can take some more grunt without an issue.

Once you go over to 3 or 6 puck / paddle or twin plate, you start to get harsh biting points, chatter / judder, but you expect it as you know what you're getting yourself into.

Very annoying if the car is a daily driver!

Middle of the road is generally the best way forward if you're staying at stock power right now with plans to raise the horse power in the future.
