Being a Saxo battery should not make a difference. If anything, it will hold more juice then the recommended battery. I suggest that you get a volt meter and first make sure that your alternator is pushing out at least 14.2v

If it is then the how much is it exactly????

The next check should be to ensure that there is nothing that is causing a drop in the stored power like a boot light that stays on all the time etc.

How long have you had the battery and where did you get it from???

What is suggested sounds like a dead altenator. If you have to charge it up all the time, then there is no charing power going to battery.

Might well be Mark, better to rule everything else out whilst at it though.

As said, get the car running and then connect a volt meter to the battery.. it should read over 14v if it doesnt then you alternater is goosed, its not the end of the world as i can do you an alternator for about £50 :) however if ti does read over 14v then your battery is knackered..

best bet for this problem is go to Halfords and buy a nissan micra battery (same size as evo) Halfords batterys come with a 5 year gaurantee.. your evo will kill the battery within that time so then take it back and exchange it :)

jobs a goodun :)

hope this helps

Your alternator is pushing out the right amount of power. I would change the battery now. Get the one that john was on about. If there is a drop and it goes flat then you could return it. I dont think you got issues with the boot light to be honest pal.

You will be better off disconnecting one thing at a time over night or during the course of the day until you have eliminated the problem buddy.

Just a thought, but I am quite sure that KwikFit do a free battery test while you wait. Give them a try, but do give the battery some time to hold a fair amount of charge first.

The other way to run a quick test on the battery is if you use the volt metre on the battery once it has held some charge and see if the current drops down after some time, usually around a half an hour, then you will know for sure that there is a drainage occurring somewhere.

I am sure you will get back to us with the findings...........
