ive only my evo just over a month but im fascinated with them

haha cheers mate, yeah i should be updating it within a few weeks, when i eventually get time off work to go and pick it up from the spray shop :arms:.

Well its been a while since iv done anything as i was waiting on the garage delivering the car Evo and me having a break from work but owell.

It was delivered yesterday and straight away was tinkering away,
so first thing was as im still working on the car the battery always dies, and had handles with no locks in them so i couldn't get into the car without fiddling with the bonnet latch,:disgusted: so i got myself a full lock set and ignition barrel along with 2 black handles,and got onto fitting them which is now so easier to get around the dead battery :razz:

and today iv fitted the front grill and XI badge, which again looks sooooo better than just a gap where it should be :whistling: but as ull see by the pics the nose chopped bit has cracked again, this was done by the delivery truck driver being slightly too rough , so ill just have to get another frount bumper now as i cba getting it fixed again, XI front here i come :razz:.

also i removed the Autobahn 88 Intercooler as i felt i needed a new one anyway, that's been bought by a Member off Evoowners.co.uk, fitted a triple dash top 60mm gauge pod :razz:. and fitted a standard recirc valve and top intercooler pipe, which again looks better.

New inner wheel arch liners going on tomorrow.

It's no wonder the battery keeps dying.. they need tot be left on trickle charge.
Shame about the bumper as it was looking good. What intercooler you going for?

That looks like a normal cam pulley cover.. ;-)

yes thats right Matt good eye hey it is a normal cam pully cover lol. and im gonna go for a AMS Intercooler. behind a XI front bumper i think. then a splitter and i mightvdetango the front lights tomorrow ;-).

Ams is a quality core, not cheap but well worth the money. Ix bumper would look good, going to try and get a rear to match?

Detango lights looks really good, too much of a faff for my liking lol

Didnt it mate well it should be there Monday,Tuesday id expect, :hm: yeah im going to split them apart again and removed the orange indicator lens, yeah ill get the pair as a set and them get them sprayed together:razz:

Some more work done today while im still off work on my well earned leave:whistling: i started out to turn around my recirc valve as i realized that id fitted it the wrong way around :wtf:, after that i fitted both front inner wheel arch liners, didnt think it would be a fiddly job, but yes it was as the holes didnt want to line up with each other :meh:, got them both on and it looks normal now as since iv had the car it's not had any fitted, then i moved my horns front behind the front grill as they looks abit OTT, look sleek were they are now :whistling:

Then gave her a nice jet wash to get rid of all the bodyshop dust and residue,

That is stock with the hard pipes fitted..same on my 8

Update

Been a couple of weeks since i last did some work on the car due to me being back at work.

So not done much tbh but got some bits through in the post,

Bonnet Vent, RalliArt Mudflaps,Wind Deflectors,EVOLUTION VIII boot badge,

Waiting on a Standard IX Intercooler to arrive, which might be tomorrow

and then all i need is.

.Standard Lower Intercooler Piping, (getting from Paul)
.O/S/F ABS Sensor.
.10.5 Hotside.
.Rear Reg Plate Bulb Holders.
.Front Lower Mesh.
.Passenger Rear Inside Handle Surround.
.Standard Car Jack.

So not really much, and then the car has everything it should have. as iv got OCD, i need everything it came with :whistling:

Hopefully i'll be able to go home next weekend to fit some bits and do some other little jobs,

yes mate a IX with 17k miles worth of use, theres not a difference i dont think as im assuming all evos from 260 - FQ400 would all be fitted with the same, only reason im running standard cooler is just for the time being until i get a full on AMS kit, as the one i got on the car was a Autobahn 88 and wasnt a great fit tbh.

But there is more room the way it runs.. Under the air filter its getting tight tot the gearbox and more bends. Custom pipework for you lol.
