My Evo 8 - A work in progress

Just a thread of about my Evo 8 GSR
Bought the car beginning of feb totally standard, full history first owner was a Dr, so far it's already had a 'proper' evo spoiler to get rid of the tiny one the GSR comes with, also just fitted a MAF adapter plate and a brand new K&N filter, New anti roll bar links fitted last week and just purchased a Walbro 255 fuel pump ready for when it's mapped later this year

Thanks mate, only just started the basics really can't wait for the rest to be done, have a picture in my head how I want it to look, and hopefully by spring next year or before I'll have hit that magic 400horses

I am kind of in the same boat mine is off the road at the min has been since just before xmas sorting other things out first before i go spending god knows how much on my evo however i did buy a second hand rear genuine evo 7 bumper the other night as i am wanting to but mine back to original with a evo7 rs ll bonnet.

Spuds nice mate I have been thinking about doing same with mine as I got a wedding to pay for by next summer and I could have it finished and wedding if I took it off road till next spring but it's such fun and the weather is awesome so I can't bring myself tj do it lol

I wouldn't be fitting air filter,decat,exhaust unless it is booked in for a remap
I would not be fitting any parts without having it mapped or you will be looking at a engine build dude

Air filter is not Guna make any difference billy, exhaust fuel pump etc are Guna be fitted then driven straight to APT for the map (driven off boost and steady of course)

Side does, I've go few mates that literally build their own cars from a shell... I'm not going that far but done a few basic mechanical bits myself to the evo and my god it's addictive, just as much fun having it on axle stands on the drive as it is driving it lol

couldn't agree more. cant wait to start putting mine back together

Well Gary @ APT told me if I was to fit a different filter to the air box it will need to be checked and map tweaked

Won't cause any harm atall, still got stock MAF sensor etc would throw a light if it didn't like something, big things turbos etc yeah se with decat etc but a filter

I agree with Billy here. I say gather all the bits and install it when your booked for a remap that day. It's cheaper in the end.

I'm just saying what I've been told by the people who knows there stuff
I still had stock maf still got told to get it checked.

Evo's are not like other cars regarding fitting filters and stuff

Long as its not booted it will be fine to drive around with new parts fitted. Done a few miles on my car in the last few days just to check things over and now its back up at indigo.
