last night rsvrob went to turn on my pops and bangs only to find the ecu wasnt let him write to it he said its either 2 things, now i have taken the ecu out today and its says this on it

sports parts
ra420996r1
sports ecu (evo6)
for rally
1 pc

in a ralli art sticker

rob said that it has a ralliart map on it so im just thinking someone has just swapped the ecu over from the std 5, but can anyone shed any light on it to see if this is one of those ecus that carnt have als put on?

Open it up and check the code on the chip it will be 7202 or 7203, if it's the latter then he will need to change his XML to make it work with EcuFlash 1.43

You can put pops and bangs on it no bother, but from the sounds of it the ECU has a 7203 chip, small tweak to the XML is all that's needed to make it work if that is the case.

yep chip is mh7203fa

typical being my car i dont have the std 5 ecu lol

You don't need your std ECU.

As H3rman says, a quick change in the settings file for ECUFlash and it will work (assuming that he's using ECUFlash v1.43 or later)

Being as this was attempted late I didn't want to take it all apart in the dark to check the chip lol
