Thinking of buying Evo x FO-300 just wondered what you do to tweak/personalize it?

I was thinking about a blow off valve or maybe air filter and is there any point in having a Vortex generator?

Suggestions please

Depends if you want power / looks / noise?
Dump valve is mostly for noise, as is air filter unless you're getting it remapped.
Vortex generator is purely looks.
I'd go wheels, suspension, exhaust.

Hi R3BB thanks for the reply.

I was hoping to create a bit more noise but not sure how well a bov would work on a semi-automatic. That has led me to think about an induction kit but I'm told you need a re-mapp. Any idea where/and how much a remapp would cost?

As i've the expence of just buying the car I can't really afford to change the exhaust just yet. I managed to get £400 of the price so I was hoping to spend that on the car in some way.

Well no point having a remap if you haven't changed anything, best to buy exhaust and fuel pump, inductions then fit them toghter then remap

If you do the exhaust and induction, you will HAVE to have a remap - the X won't accept changes like that, like the older models.
Remap will cost in the region of £500.
BOV works fine on the SST, just differently.

Thanks for the info, I've got plenty to think about!

As for the bov, I assume as your foot is on the accelerator more you don't get the whooshing sound so much as that only happens when you take your foot off the gas.

Do you know wheres the best place for mapping in the East Midlands?

i bought a standard X 300 recently and thought it was a bit tame. stock exhaust noise is rubbish. just treated myself to a new exhaust (cat back) from the Cat to the rear box from a place in essex and its miles better noise now. was £700. Hayward and Scott.
doesnt seemed to have changed performance or caused any problems but im thinking of getting it mapped now cos i just think it needs to be a bit faster. apparently theres a place in kent thats supposed to be really good for evos.

No need to change the fuel pump on a X for stage 1:)

On my 300 SST I went HKS filter £25 , 2nd hand FQ360 exhaust and decat £200, remap + 3 port boost controller £500 making 370hp.

Taking the torque limiter off first made the biggest difference.

Did 1500 miles round Europe last week with Le Mans and the Nurburgring, WOT on the autobahn for extended periods . So far I'm happy.

Cheers

Agreed, this is the best and safe way to do the mods.

Buy an exhaust and induction kit, have hem fitted just before the map, staying off boost until its mapped.

With the track record of the X, I'd say if you were going to tune it, a set of Forged rods.

someone said to me that my EVO X could be limited as it doesnt go over 115mph.
I thought this was cos maybe the new exhaust ive put on has cocked it up a bit...?
hence why i was going to get it mapped but maybe do i just get the limiter taken off?
is that easy?
