What do you mean by how they work mate? Same as having more than one policy but basically kept together under one number etc. Still build no claims on each car on the policy

A trades policy when not in a trade isn't against the law how ever the insurance companies have made it harder to get one you h e to prove your in a trade now

I had one til last year....ran evo's , 911, m3csl...£600 fully comp me and her indoors....she's 32
Last year fooooked up on a roundabout took a double signpost out , car was split mint Subaru wr1...
Thought its ok I'm f/c no worries , car was up for sale so bit of a bonus if they write it off :D
Was down as a self employed car valeter with them (part time)
Got a letter within 48 hours asking to see my tax returns
Rang them up arse twitching as you do:eek:
Err no tax return at hand will books do???.....would of give mi mum something to do :D
Nope....tax return only and we do contact the tax office to confirm ALL your details
Well after screaming at the muppet telling him what I'd do to his wife/mother/granny etc.....I told him to shove the policy up his arse and I'll pay the repairs myself
Fine was the answer....but until you send us proof no 3rd parties have any interest in you were keeping your 5yrs no claims
£4k later the council was paid and the Subaru rebuilt and sold , I now run genuine insurance

Learn from others mistakes.....'twas a fooookin expensive run out in the car
