And it past, it shouldn't off though.

The garage i took it to have Tested my RS over the last 3 years and i took my Evo IV there today. everything was fine, however the emmissions was too high. The tester and his colleagues had a chat ammong eachother and decided to pass it.

Very kind of them, They understand that these cars do have high emmissions.

The only thing i didn't get with my pass paper was the Emissions result paper.
Just goes to show there is garages out there that dont f**k customers over.

oh El, my bush problem didn't even come up as an advisory either, Weird.

You should see the trickery needed to get the rally car down! Very rarely makes it though it does only do about 400 miles a year

its not the testers choice to pass or fail the emissions.
there is a co2 machine that checks that & only that passes it or fails it.
in this case the emissions was not completed therefore a copy was not issued.
not a problem but if the tester gets caught by vosa in the 3 month period he is going to be in trouble!
hope you gave him a good drink lol

Mr Lancer,
you forgot to mention that when they do issue a printout for one of these de-cat models they usually use a 1.4 or a relativelt new car;)

Very common. however i watched and they didn't do that, to be fair the tester did say it was only just out of the allowed range. He only let the car though because of how well the car was in terms of condition and everything that is required to pass the MoT was far superior to what is expected of its age. service last year was over £1,500.

End of the day it past and i'm not going to complain, if they fail a car its for a good cause, as i found out on my RS.

they tend to run a little higher than most cars on co emissions.
if its a de-cat then most testers would refuse to test the vehicle.
im assuming for your test the tester has done an emissions report copy of another vehicle for he's records.
this is when you had left the premises. its important for the station to keep all emission copies of all tested vehicles.

They are not hard to pass through the emissions test. It is just that when they have a de-cat section, it does cause issues.

totally forgot!
yes i am & have been for 7 years & 12 years in the trade.
thanks for mentioning el'
when the evo's are standard they are just on the max limit of co which is approx 00.20.
any exhaust modifications & it will arise the figures.
if its de-cated it will fail staight away.
if there is no cat then there is no emission test. nothing to check.

its ok i knew you were, seen you mention it on here. as you've decribed 00.20 is very close. Sadly due to these emission tests the Escort RS Cosworth had no choice but to end production.

i'm sure i read it somewhere..?

Wish i had a Cosworth, mine just simply a Series 2 Escort RS Turbo.

No Cat needed due to its age, and as its old it has a high Co2 allowance.
