Yea your right the mr engine has thicker rods so 400bhp ain't a problem but yea you'll need cams to reach this. But with a de-cat, 3 port boost Solenoide and good re-map at around 1:75 bar boost should see you at 380 bhp

i have a 3" magnex modular down pipe and turbow elbow bought from arnside motorsport = £250

hks induction kit mushroom type = £110 i think

blits nur spec r exhaust (my personal bargain only 1000 miles )= £200

avcr = £250

fuel pump,remap from indigo gt using ecutec, fitting of the above ^^^^ (thats between me and indigo gt so im not telling you :whistling

martyh, i have had two peeps map my car in the time ive had mine and there is nothing generic about the maps, all maps are tailored to how the owners likes the car to act in terms of how the boost comes on, if they want pops and bangs, additional map for better fuel economy etc, dont also forget that people have different specs or you can have two cars with the same spec using different parts ( stage one tuning e.g panel filter or induction kit, 3 port or boost controller, etc) and cause of the parts the car may act differently to the other.

at the end of the day you spend big money or save yourself loads of money by listening to those who have done it and if quality second had parts come up then buy them like i have apart from the 3 port and bov everything else is second hand parts and ive spent around £700 total modding mine where as others have spent £2000 to get to the same spec as me.
bov = £70
hks panel filter = free
hks down pipe = £30
hks super drager =£50
performance friction discs and pads =£300
3 port = £70?
decat and fuel pump on car already as is the newly found tracker
eibach springs =£35
e9 bilstein shocks =£55
2x remap for different stages

ask, listen to what people recommend, buy second hand parts and clean them up, only buy what you need to buy and only buy new if you have to and if someone local is upping power on theirs and selling bits and they are the bits you need then get them ( like me)

B6lee I thought the mr had different cams to those on a normal Gsr or fq I am sure I read it on this forum il see if I can find that and ref it correct me if I'm wrong mate? The info is on m7gsr thread in my post mrfq300

look on the forums, local members near you that are upgrading, go see them see if they will come and help you on your car etc, try john@evobreakers etc.

Thnks mate i was thinking the same so i will go with secondhand parts mate by the way with the secondhand parts is it better to drive to the place of sale get them fitted or get them to send it via post?

it depends, this is were getting to know people helps, for example if rich ( motointerest) or john@evobreakers were selling something that i couldnt fit then i would get them to fit it as i trust them, if say my friend saf ( who i got bits off who lives round the corner had lived miles away) i wouldnt get him to fit them as he hasnt got a clue, if it was someone who i didnt know at all then i would find out info if peeps had bought stuff off them before, get them to send pics so you can see what you are buying if everything is ok then go ahead and get it if not then dont bother.

in time you will get to know who to take your car to, who to buy from and try and do things yourself so you learn, do things like brake change, fitting induction and bovs, styling bits, changing alloys, exhaust fitting, etc everything else get someone who knows what they are doing.
