just got round to fitting my oil catch tank to do away with the inlet breather on my e4 .

as talked about here ...

http://www.evoowners.co.uk/f4/oil-catch-tanks-evo-yes-no-10397.html#axzz2HngNHcAC

some parts second hand or off ebay local part shop .

i like the way its turned out " very stelth like " as most of my under bonnet is painted black so it dosnt stand out ,built to go not for show :O)

this involved welding on 2 alloy an10 bungs to the rocker cover ,

one is easier than the other " inlet manifold side " just remove the rubber bung and weld on .

the second involves removing a small breather tube " filter side" i found it easier to heat the rocker cover with a small gas torch and then with some grips just pull it free , then all that was needed was to dremmel the hole out to around 17mm , was suprised how thick the cover was at this point " around 10mm

also had to tap a fitting in to the top of the tank for the breather outlet but any good engineer's can do this

then running 2 hoses to a alloy catch tank with another hose with filter leaving the top of the tank to vent gases under the inner wing ,

job done " well nearly i need to finish a mount for the tank but the zip tie is working really well for now :O)

oh and dont forget to block off the old pipes to the inlet manifold and filter :O)

ps.
while the cover was off i took the time to dial in my bc 272 cams with trulock pullies " well what a eye opener that was but thats another story :O)

thanks mate :0)

have to say i feel the idle quality has improved and the throttle response a little crisper but cant say if its the catch tank or the cam timing or both that has made a differance but am a happy bunny which ever :0)

all iknow is i need to get the map checked as ive changed to a 70mm throttle body , bigger boost pipes , and now done the cam timing and breather mods on the old map " saying that all look ok on the apexi pfc controller and wide band gauge :0)

but better to be safe than sorry ..
