mintex brake pads cheap?

i need of some front pads and found these mintex pads for 50 quid.
what are your opinions?

for just general use? i had these put on mine last month and i dont do tracks etc. they are brilliant for the price, still stop dead quick if need be

yeah just for general use. i had ebc reds on before, these seem to be hated by everyone on the evo scene.
though i thought they did the job fine.
so if they are as good as them i will be happy

Mintex are rubbish. Mate of mine put some in his golf gti track car and had to come back in after 20 mins cos the pads were down to the metal

oh yeah,,,, even i wouldnt think of them for a track, but just for normal driving on the road, and if your on a budget they do the job as well as any

I'm a believer of fit and forget if you fit the cheap and nasty ones then they won't last and they are not up to doing every job so why bother and just fit something descent instead and forget about it

If you are on a budget and take it easy when driving then they will be fine.

Lee has a good point, when it come to brakes you really do want to fit and forget, with that in mind, I suggest that you go for Performance Friction Pads.

They do cost double, but if you bed them in correctly, they will last around 3 to 4 times longer.

Thanks El but it's carbotec all the way for me, they work in town and on track and I love splattering people against the dash
