meth injection help

Just bought myself an evo and just wondering what way the meth injection works, the fella told me all I need to do is flip the switch beside the turbo clock thing and it will go up to what ever horse power, iv hit it a few times but don't really feel a difference maybe its me but am I supposed to hit it and wait for a while or should it kick in as soon as I hit it?

Its not the same as nos and neither are like in the film's.

Meth/water is introduced into the intake just before the throttle body. This aids in reducing temperatures and giving a higher octane lvl. For increased explosive power. This combined with a map to suit will give increased power gains of 15-20bhp. So not a massive kick. But it also aids in a cleaner and safer burn.
It should be controlled via a pressure switch. So when you hit the desired boost it activates and squirts into the intake. You can't activate it on a switch when you choose because it needs a map to suit to get the most gains. Otherwise by just injecting water/meth mix you actually lose power.
You should check for a single injector somewhere in the intercooler pipe work. 6-12 inches from the throttle body.

prob a stupid question but what do you mean it needs a map to suit to get the most gains? am I doing my car any damage by flippin that switch every now and again?

And is it only 15-20 extra bhp? think the fella said it was an extra 40 odd bhp but saying that he has lied a lot. thanks for the help btw

A map to suit!! This would be a remap from standard factory settings of fuel and timing. With any modification that would alter the air/fuel mixture into or out of the engine. You should have a remap to get the most gains.
40bhp gain would be far more than is likely.

yea it has been mapped, I think standerd it was 260bhp then it was tuned to 380ish then he said that that meth injection would take it up to around 320, any idea if removing the meth injection would be a big job or would I be better leaving it as it is and just not using it?

Should have been 10-15% bhp gain
Or typically 25-45bhp gain

If it's been mapped to run on meth then leave it. Otherwise your running the risk of being lean on the air/fuel mix.
It's not to difficult to remove if necessary. Just check and block all holes.

I'm not sure if this is a wind up or no
I've had the Aquamist system before and no it wasn't like the switch the lad flicked on the fast and the furious
It was my understanding, in my case anyway there was no actual increase in power as a direct result of adding the Methonol but because it was there the engine would run/combust ? Cooler so when mapping the car more power could be squeezed out of it safely.

You can also pour measured amounts of Methonol directly in to your fuel tank, I'm not sure how that works but of course you wouldn't get the good of it without a map to suit.

The whole confusion here is with the 'flip the switch and you get a power boost'.
Meth does increase bhp but combined with a map to suit...
