Hi all!

Last night I was on the phone to a friend in Japan. Over there they are passionate about all things Ebo or if not then all things Skyline. We got into a debate about which is the best overall and it soon became a conference call that spanned from the Far East, over to the middle East, the Netherlands, UK and South America which ended up including the Scooby too.........

As far as the Skyline is concerned it is the hands down winner on potential and still holds the 1/4 mile record over the Ebo and the STi, but the STi is a failure as far as my crew and I are concerned simply because there are too many design engineered flaws that end in engine detonation or seizure so the Scooby is ruled out.

We ultimately decided to end it by getting on our respected forums and seeing who rates their car and why, also, as it might prove biased, problems that have occurred must be taken into consideration as well as how long the car has been owned too.

Please take a moment of your time and tell us right here what Evo you have and what you think of it, please, please also list what problems you had and how much it cost to rectify or if it is still an issue.

*Evo owned VII

Evo V GSR

*Duration of ownership

Nearly 2 years

*I rate my Evo because...........

Performance and handling, sounds pretty good too :)

*problems

A few. Clutch went after a few months of ownership. 5 months after replacing that, the cambelt failed so replaced with an 8MR engine and finally, just had a driveshaft replaced as it has one from a 7/8/9 fitted (too long)

*cost to cure

Roughly £6000.....hmm, could have forged it for that much :(

*Evo owned VIII

*Duration of ownership 2 days

*I rate my evo cos ive allways though about 4 wheel drive goodness and wanted to test the evo out and the car does look lovely too. plus i have allways had nissan`s from 2 s13`s to 2 skylines one GTS pushing 370 BHP and one pushing about 290 bhp so thought i could do with a change.

*Problems i need more power like a crack head needs the crytal meth.....

*No problems as of yet, as long as the car gods dont will it lol

I do miss the skyline power and sound as the 6 cylinder makes a beastly recognizable note but i am loving the EVO looks and feel...

i didnt read the questions properly so thought id give an updated answer on this!

I got an evo 4, had it for about 7 months, i like it because its a performance rally car and it is unexpected for a 22 yr old girl to be driving one! Its a head turner, and simply throws your head into your seat when ever that pedal hits the floor!

I have to admit tho i do prefer the sound of a scooby out of them all! My evo has left every scooby i have ever raced but the sound of a scooby in my opinion is un beatable!

Problems- The only prob i have had with it was my crank pulley which was only cheap to replace at £60 where as on my bmw before when the cam pulley went it cost £200 so parts not as expensive as i thought!

Skylines are butiful tho favourite is clearly R35 but do able prices would be R33 but the evo is cheaper insurance aswel so evo kinda wins this hands down! I got insurance quotes on evo 4 and r33 single turbo and there were a grand difrence in price! Then when i raced one beat it anyway so

EVO's all the way! xxxx
