Hey thanks for reading my post :). I posted earlier and have decided its more than likely my bov (dump valve). Iv decided I'm going to remove it compleatly. Iv read a few bits and bobs that removing it can cause turbo problems from not having a bov. My brother who also has an evo 8 the same as mine doesn't have a bov fitted and don't think the car has ever had one. My bov is located on my top right hard pipe (flat flange type bov) if I just blanked this hole and blocked the little tube that gone on the end of the bov would this cause any problem with turbo or anything else. Many thanks for reading and hope u can help and hope u have had a good weekend ;).

Put a standard one on there or you will end up killing your turbo :)

Hi mate iv got A standard one on ATM and had a new copy hks one on for a bit but it dumps so easy. I decided to space the spring inside the bov to put some more tension on the valve as it sounded like it was staying open on throttle

Are there reputable BOV's that don't mess our cars up? That are reliable and actually work? I'm interested in fitting one, but I've had to take off my old Blitz one because of the rpm issues.

You guys need to run dual port bov's.
that way you still get the recirc which stops the car from stalling and also you get atmospheric noise too :)

I haven't used one :\ I changed to a Forge recirc due to the stalling issues with the standard one, and that make the car drive crap. Changed that to an APS dual port which was a whole load better but still not perfect.

Seen fake dump valves do all sorts of nastyness, leak under boost, such in unmetered air, bin it! There's a fake hks on mine which is going in the bin.... Er I mean for sale lol

Aps is a quality bit of kit, never ever had an issue of mine.. Still I sold it, hks in the car now..wouldn't run the car without it, at least fit a stock mr item in there.

I ran a metal re-circ ok on my V (forge style... for sale ... hint)... that was fine. I have now switched to a Tial Q which is VTA. I am still MAF and have no stalling issues, but plan to switch to SD hence why I went to the TIAL.

From what I gather if you want VTA then a Tial or Turbosmart will see you right (or as B6Lee says a dual-port).

Got a hks on my car, its the Ssqv 3, does give the odd idle issue now and again but then the cams make it lumpy so never going to be perfect..

Is it the original model Ssqv?
