maybe another stupid question!!!

My brakes are not as good as they should be, i have replaced front discs and pads and rear were ok so left them, gonna bleed them tomorrow and replace fluid, but wot are the tell tale signs of brake master cylinder failure and how do i know if it needs replacing??

They are not brembos just standard evo 4 brakes

Any help much appreciated

How do you define crap ?? Is the brake system doing something unusual ??

no not unusual just you have to push the pedal pretty hard for anything to happen, almost like brake fade but just all the time?!!

Sounds like master cylinder to me or air in the system

It's hard to say without seeing for myself.
Now I know the non brembo set ups art that good but I'm unsure how they feel.

its hard to explain because they have been this way since i owned it so im unsure how they should be , but i KNOW they should be better than they are!!

Trouble is everyone has there own oppinion of what's good and what's bad. You need to compare it to another one really cos as they say, Evo 4 brakes are crap anyway

they are chronicly bad alright. i got a few serious frights in my 4!

the brembo setup is so much better!!

i dont know how mitsu made a car with such good performance and brakes that wouldnt stop a micra

i dont know how much it would cost if its not too expensive try it. but as lee said try and see if you can drive another evo 4 and take it from there

crap pad's maybe? Mine were bad before upgrade. Now with new disc's pad's line's and fluid there good. Can stop from about 100 mph in 100 yard's ish. As i found out when setting up my boost controller!look at the road Nick not the gauge! Runabout was coming up fast! But stopped with loads of time. That day i found out my brake's are ok. Lol Can't wait to fit bembo's they must be awesome!

How long have you bedded them in? They will be shit for 200 miles or so.

wot do you mean upgrade as in non-standard or just all new discs and pads standard?

ran new pads and discs nice and gently for a good 500 miles to be sure i wasnt gonna feck em up!!
